The website www.sulleormedeinostripadri.it  is a project that started off in autumn 2006 after brothers Andrea and Giuliano Gandolfi, in May the same year, had met Val Rios, Cruz Rios' son and current chairman of the 10th Mountain Division Descendants. His father was a soldier enrolled in the K Company of the 3rd Battalion, 87th Regiment of the 10th American Mountain Division, who fought on the Gothic Line (renamed "Green Line" from Field Marshal Albert Kesselring, in June 1944), in the high Tuscan-Emilian Apennine Mountains in the territory of the provinces of Modena and Bologna, between January and April 1945.

The book "In my Father's foxholes and footsteps", and the desire to make all those experiences and knowledge acquired in such short time available to history enthusiasts, were the outcome of such meeting.  The whole led by the passion which is still shown by the rooms devoted to the Second World War hosted in the Iola di Montese Museum.

We hope that this web site, which we promise to update and expand also with the contribution of those who are browsing these pages and photographs, will stimulate the curiosity and interest of anyone who wants to know his father's footsteps. You can send a web link or an article to articoli@sulleormedeinostripadri.it. More informations info@sulleormedeinostripadri.it.
