Visit by Donald Dunn. 10th Mountain Division Veteran

on .

On September, 27 2012,  another veteran of the 10th Mountain Division returned to Italy and had visited the museum in Iola Montese. DONALD DUNN has organized for itself, five sons and twenty-three descendants, the visit to the battlefields where he had fought between the February and April 1945 into the 86° Regiment, Company G.

He was accompanied by two historians: Peter L. Hahn, professor and director of the history department at Ohio State University, and Peter R. Mansoor, associate professor.

It was certainly the opportunity to make known to their descendants the vicissitudes of the period of the Second World War and see Italy. The museum visit, which lasted about two hours, followed by a return to some places where Donald fought: Il Monte, a locality of Iola, where there was a command post of the 86th Regiment and on hill 775, near Rocca di Roffeno, where Dunn wounded.

At DONALD DUNN, who is 89 years old and lives in Ohio, go the thanks of the Director and of the responsibles both for visiting the museum and told us his memories and also for the generous donation to the museum.
